Adult Remote Autism Evaluations
Neurodivergent-Affirming Evaluations and Compassionate Support for Adults
Feeling burned out, misunderstood, or unsure whether you're neurodivergent? You're not alone. Many adults begin exploring autism or ADHD after years of masking, adapting, and struggling to make sense of their challenges. If you're looking for clarity, compassion, and expert support, then you're in the right place.

This process can feel nerve-wracking. Many adults have waited years to explore this. You deserve clear explanations for every step, reassurance about masking or forgetting things, and a process that feels predictable rather than overwhelming.

At Understanding Minds, we offer neurodiversity-affirming adult assessments that go beyond diagnosis. Our evaluations help you understand how your brain works, what supports you might benefit from, and how to feel more at ease in your life.
Who This Evaluation Is For

-
Adults whose medical provider is requesting documentation for ADHD medication
-
Individuals wanting to confirm or update a previous ADHD diagnosis
-
Adults needing accommodations at work
-
High-masking, high-performing adults who want to understand themselves better
-
Adults who have already had an evaluation and need a second opinion
-
Students who need accommodations for college or graduate school
When You’ve Spent Years “Compensating,” It Doesn’t Mean You Aren’t Functioning Well
Many adults reach out after years of struggling with focus, organization, follow-through, and internal pressure while still appearing “fine” to everyone else.
You may be:

-
Exhausted from working twice as hard as others
-
Struggling to start or finish tasks
-
Constantly overwhelmed by everyday demands
-
Losing time to hyperfocus and burnout cycles
-
Feeling scattered despite being smart, capable, and motivated
-
Wondering why things feel harder for you than they should
ADHD in adults often looks like invisible effort, not visible chaos. You’re not failing; you’ve been compensating for years, and it takes a toll. This evaluation helps you finally understand why things feel the way they do. I look at anxiety and depression as well to help you understand the whole picture, as living with undiagnosed ADHD often takes a toll on your mental health.
A Neurodiversity-Affirming Approach
I specialize in working with adults who mask well, hold high expectations for themselves, and internalize their struggles. Your evaluation is:
-
Collaborative and conversational rather than hours of unnecessary cognitive or neuropsychological testing (it's not needed for an autism diagnosis!)
-
Focused on your lived experience
-
Sensitive to masking and emotional costs
Particularly suited for high-masking adults, women, LGBTQ+ folks, individuals identified as gifted when younger, and late-identified neurodivergent adults
-
Respectful, validating, and practical
-
Clear communication, scheduling, and expectations to minimize your anxiety

Your Privacy Comes First
Because I do not bill insurance, your evaluation is fully confidential. No information is shared with employers, schools, or medical providers unless you choose. You remain in complete control of your data. I do not share information with government databases. When insurance is billed, diagnostic information is typically shared with the insurance company and may be stored in claims databases that can be accessed by multiple parties involved in healthcare administration including the government.

Finances
The evaluation fee is $1800. The first payment is due at the first session with the second half due at the second session. I can provide a receipt called a "superbill" for possible insurance reimbursement (but not guaranteed.) We accept CareCredit and offer payment plans. Do know that if you pay full price for an evaluation, it helps me offer reduced fee spots for neurodivergent folks in need. Please visit the Finances page for more information.

You’ll know exactly what’s included, what you’re paying for, and how this evaluation differs from typical insurance-based models. Because this is private practice, there’s flexibility to move quickly, tailor the process to your actual needs, and protect your privacy through separate documents so you can share as little or as much as you choose.

Do you provide online Autism evaluations in my state?
Online Autism evaluations are available in almost all states. Please view the Locations page for verification.

Do you take insurance?
No. I am an out-of-network provider, which keeps your evaluation completely private, and the process is simpler, faster, and more flexible. I can provide a superbill if you want to submit it to your insurance for possible reimbursement. See the Finances page for more details.
Are you a giant corporation?
This is a business owned and operated by a neurodivergent woman. Everything is handled directly by me, the psychologist and practice owner. This gives me maximum flexibility (i.e. rescheduling, late fees, reduced fees for evaluations, payment plans, all handled at my discretion).

Will my results remain private?
Yes. Your evaluation is confidential and not shared with anyone without your permission (with a few confidentiality exceptions such as safety).

Is there a waitlist? What is the turnaround time?
I can usually schedule the first appointment within a few weeks, depending on your availability. Within two weeks after that, you will have your feedback meeting and report. It's a quick turnaround because I know i wouldn't want to wait months for an appointment or to get my results.
